ICS Vortex (Simen Hestnæs)

ICS Vortex, born Simen Hestnæs on February 4, 1974, is a Norwegian musician known for his versatile contributions to the extreme metal genre, particularly in black metal and progressive metal. He is best known as the vocalist and bassist for the influential band Borknagar, which he joined in 1996, and later as a member of Dimmu Borgir, where he contributed his unique vocal style and theatrical presence. His notable works include Borknagar's albums "The Olden Domain" (1997) and "Empiricism" (2001), as well as Dimmu Borgir's critically acclaimed "Death Cult Armageddon" (2003) and "In Sorte Diaboli" (2007). ICS Vortex is also recognized for his solo album, "Storm Seeker" (2011), showcasing his melodic and symphonic approach to metal.
